The Cost Accountant will be responsible for aiding the preparation of annual standard costs and ensuring their accuracy on a monthly basis. The Cost Accountant will provide monthly cost reports to operational and financial management within tight reporting deadlines. Other responsibilities include assisting the development and ongoing improvement of costing processes and systems and capital project cost and return analyses and reports as needed. The Cost Accountant will be heavily involved in the initial implementation of costing as part of the Cosmos Oracle project.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Administer accurately and timely the cost information in the general accounting system, including: o Preparing cost related journal entries, account analysis, etc. o Ensuring the accuracy of standard costs. Provide business and analytical support by: o Providing financial analysis and support to departments and senior management. o Preparing financial reports, including monthly management accounts. o Recommending methods and procedures to improve cost accounting processes. Assist with the annual budget preparation by providing standard cost information based on budgeted cost and activity levels. Prepare analysis of capital projects to ensure accurate project cost information is included on initial request, that actual spending is in line with estimated costs and that anticipated ROI is achieved. Coordinate the routine tasks within the finance team.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting required. 3+ years of cost accounting experience required. Experience in pharmaceuticals industry preferred. Knowledge of MS Office, with strong Excel skills required. Oracle experience preferred.
